ok, so I broke my own rules. I wanted to try using black. Not only can negative emotions and memories be suppressed, but positive memories can be repressed by overwhelming sadness.
30.5 x 40.6cm Acrylic, wax, permanent marker, writing paper (from old schoolbooks), butchers paper, balloon, old photographs, dried leaves, ashes on canvas board.
I'm not sure if the black works yet. What do you think?
On the small view, it looked like yep, some kind of star field. Then when i take a closer look, it looked like bubles, like oil bubbles, dense and claustrophobic. Now after a while it looks like both of them. Stars sinking on a claustrophobic, warm and dense void. Just like people, i suposse. Nice texture!
black on black (or white on white as the case me be) always delights me

"Terror is as much a part of the concept of truth as runniness is of the concept of jam. We wouldn't like jam if it didn't, by its very nature, ooze. We wouldn't like truth if it wasn't sticky, if, from time to time, it didn't ooze blood." -Baudrillard
and thanks, hehe, i totally remember my days of emo poetry, but when i was 14 and writing emo poetry, there wasn't even the term 'emo' yet, hahah, but believe you me, it was uber emo stuff
i think we all have our emo poetry phase....i wish i had kept some of that stuff, it would be hilarious to read it now 10 years later, heheh

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

In this picture, i am seeing the shining stars grow dimmer as the black hole consumes me, the void where something once comforted people.
Thanks for taking a deeper look, Matt.

It is the night where I kissed a girl and I knew she would be going home to her fiance.
It is the asphalt of my elementary school, and the color is my dreams of birthday parties.

You are also super-rad in my opinion! I've been dev-watching you since I was 14 on my old account where I posted lame self portraits and emo poetry.
